NEW MIDDLETOWN - Joan D. Beach, 91, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
Joan was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Youngstown, the daughter of Walter and Cleo Wire Osborne.
She was a graduate of South High School. Joan spent her life as a dedicated homemaker, caring for her family and her home. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown.
Joan enjoyed crocheting and playing her favorite game, Zelda, on her Game Boy. Most of all, Joan loved the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Kerry Bregar of New Middletown and David (Connie) Bregar of McDonald; sisters, Gail (Lou) Holquist of New Middletown and Arlene Crouse of North Lima; brother, Jim (Evelyn) Osborne of Boardman; five grandchildren, Heather (Steven) Mangin, Heidi Bregar, Bryan (Tamara) Bregar, Mark (Nicole) Bregar and Laura Bregar; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Beach, whom she married in 1981 and who died in 2000; sister, Pauline Burr; brother, Bob Osborne; and granddaughter, Angela Grace Bregar.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Monday, officiated by Pastor Alan Smearsoll.
She will be laid to rest in Zion Cemetery in New Middletown.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Zion Lutheran Church.
