BOARDMAN Prayers will begin 12:15 p.m. Friday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church for Mrs. Joan V. Reardon, 78, who died peacefully Monday evening.
Joan was born on Dec. 7, 1929 in Youngstown, a daughter of James and Viola Morton Harrison.
She was an Ursuline High School graduate, a member of the church, and a former member of the Holy Family Church. She was also a former member of the Tippecanoe Country Club and the Caprice Dance Club.
After raising her family, Joan enjoyed golfing and bowling in numerous area leagues including the Holy Family Bowling League and the Millcreek Women¹s Golf League. She particularly enjoyed family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joan will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, her timeless beauty and her contagious smile.
She is survived by her two daughters, Colleen Dr. Edward Novosel of Liberty Township and Judith Britt Greene of Poland; four sons, William J.Karen Reardon of Liberty Twp., Dennis Lisa Reardon of Poland, Terry Judy Reardon of Boardman, and Atty. Timothy Suzie Reardon of Canfield; her son-in-law, Daniel Schiavone of Boardman; a sister, Lenore Silanski of Lombard, Ill.; 23 grandchildren, Chrissy Joe Falleti, Missy Dan Rowland, Dr. Edward Novosel, Kelly Dr. Chad Volovar, Atty. Amy Greene, Allison and Erin Greene, William Reardon, Jr., Bridget Nick Terracina, A.J. Jaime Schiavone, Dr. Dana Ryan Goldberg, Daniel Stefanie Schiavone Jr., Jennifer Schiavone; Kelsy, Amanda and Colin Reardon, John, Terrance, Bailey and Delaney Reardon, Joan, Shannon and Timothy Reardon; four
great-grandchildren, John, Colleen and Luke Rowland and Giovanna Schiavone.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, William J., whom she married July 29, 1950 and died Dec. 12, 1986; a daughter, Deborah Schiavone; a granddaughter, Meghan Reardon; four sisters, Mrs. Sally "Sarah" Carey, Mrs. Mary Thompson, Patricia Colonna and Helen Havey; and three brothers, Maurice, Jack and Joseph Harrison.
Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Rainbow Chapter, Jefferson Park, 4635 Richmond, Suite No. 103, Warrensville, OH 44128 in Joan¹s memory.
