John "Woody" Boston, 78, passed away on June 30 2024.
Born on May 7, 1946, in Salem, John lived a life filled with love for his family and respect for all those around him.
After graduating from Leetonia High School in 1964, John went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy. His commitment to his military service was a testament to his loyalty and dedication.
He retired as a Regional Manager of Cellular Construction Projects for USWEST/QWEST Communications after 27 years.
John was known for his kind and respectful nature. He had a warm personality that made everyone feel valued and appreciated. He loved to laugh & make everyone else laugh and was always the life of the party. He was a family man & cherished every moment he spent with his loved ones! He found joy in simple pleasures like fishing, playing cards and creating lasting memories with friends along the way!
In his free time, he was an active member of the Leetonia American Legion Post 131, Washingtonville VFW Post 5532, and the Salem Club. John leaves behind his beloved wife & best friend Barbara of 41 years. Inseparable and joined at the hip - they were Soul Mates through and through!
He is survived by his three children, Banyon Boston, Dawn & her husband Dominic Hayes, and Dustin Walker; he has seven grandchildren; 1 niece Kelly Centofanti; 1 nephew, Dan & his wife Amy Holloway; two great nieces, and five great nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Tink" and Ann Priesler Boston, as well as his sister, Sandra (Bill) Holloway.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects July 5th from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Salem Chapel, 1858 E. State Street, Military Honors will follow at 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers, material donations can be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
