AUSTINTOWN - Private services were held for John "Mike" M. Carey, 49, who died peacefully Friday afternoon at home.
Mike was born July 24, 1968, in Cincinnati, the son of John J. and Nancy (Petrin) Carey.
He was a 1986 graduate of Ursuline High School and worked as a warehouseman as well as a truck driver for The Tamarkin Company for many years. Mike was a member of the Youngstown Pistol and Riffle Club. He volunteered and helped keep score every Tuesday evening at the YRPC Trap Program.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Carey of Austintown; brother Peter (Jennifer) Carey of Boardman; and two nieces, McKenna and Morgan Carey.
Besides his father, Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Frances (Egan) Carey and John and Kathryn (Terlecky) Petrin; and seven aunts and uncles, Mary Rose Carey, Dolores Carey, Price and Irene Ferron, Edward and Florence Carson, Milton and Joan Tocorzic, William and Miriam Constantino, and Robert and Frances Raub.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
