Columbiana - Funeral Services will be held Wedensday at 11 AM at Locust Grove Baptist Church for John J Cook, 89, formerly of Greenford, who passed away Saturday morning at St. Mary's Alziehmers Center.
John was born Nov. 15, 1919 in Beaver Township, the son of Lester and Vera Oesch Cook.
John was a graduate of Greenford High School. He was a veteran in the United States Army serving in WWII. John was a molder for the Columbiana Pump Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1981.
John leaves his wife the former Helen L Bare whom he married Oct. 12, 1946; two sons Richard J Deborah Cook of North Lima and Fredrick D Cook of Canfield; a brother Walter Cook of Columbiana; four grandchildren
Matthew Cook, Sarah Stepan, Jonathan Cook and Jennifer Cook; and one great granddaughter Violet Stepan.
John was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.
Friend may call Wednesday from 10 to 11AM at the church.
