John W. Cummings Sr., 76

CANFIELD ­ There will be funeral services Monday at 9:15 a.m. at
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and at 10 a.m. at
St. Michael Church in Canfield for John W. Cummings Sr., 76, who passed away
Friday at Hospice House.
John was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Youngstown, a son of John and Frances Kelly
Cummings.
He attended The Rayen School. He was a veteran of the Navy, stationed on the
USS Oriskany. He was a truck driver for Loblaws, McNicholas and Anchor Motor
Freight.
John was the owner of Colonial Cottage Restaurant in Canfield and Bedroom
Lounge in Austintown. He was a real estate agent for Mike Coman in Canfield
and Miekle, a bus driver for the Mahoning County Board MRDD and also worked
for the Ohio Turnpike Commission as a toll collector. He was a member of the
Ellsworth Historical Society and St. Michael Church.
John leaves his wife, the former Joan D. Kluska, whom he married Sept. 1,
1956; four sons, John W. Andrea Cummings of Coitsville, Michael S.
Jeanne Cummings of Ellsworth, Kenneth A. Lisa Cummings of Ellsworth and
Christopher J. Tracie Cummings of Berlin Center; a sister, Frances Jack
Sansone of Austintown; nine grandchildren, Heather Eagle, John W. Cummings
III, Nicole Nicola, Lyndsay Cummings, Courtney Cummings, Presley Cummings,
Chase Cummings, Mason Cummings and Tyler Cummings; and a great-grandchild,
Franklin Angelo Nicola.
John was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dolores Barich,
and Mary Gilmore.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
