John D'Angelo

POLAND-Services will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, and at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church for John Giovonni D'Angelo age 80 of Poland who died Sunday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Emergency Room in Boardman of a sudden heart attack after being stricken at his home.
John was born May 27, 1924, in Pratola Peligna, Italy, the son of Pelino and Cristina Pace D'Angelo.
He came to this country in 1954. As a member of Cement Finishers Local # 179 he had worked as a cement finisher for numerous area contractors. He later earned his stationary engineers license, and worked as a combustion engineer for LTV Steel for over 20 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of Holy Family Church, and the Sons of Italy Lodge # 2539, and in 1987 was named as the organizations Man of the Year.
He is survived by his wife the former Lucia DiBacco whom he married February 28, 1946, two daughters, Nadia M. Bruno Jacobs of Boardman, and Cindy David Ciccone of Struthers, two sons, Paul Anita of Wildwood Crest, NJ, and Leo Stacey D'Angelo of Poland, a sister Emilia D'Alessandro of Italy, a brother Erminio D'Angelo of Italy, seven grandchildren, Christina D'Angelo, Lisa Semchee, Brianne Ciccone, Joshua Jacobs, Leo Dom D'Angelo, Alannah Ciccone, and Amelia D'Angelo, and a great granddaughter Hailey Semchee.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eduardo, and Guerino D'Angelo, and a great granddaughter Madison Semchee.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 7 PM Tuesday evening at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
