John Demarco

NORTH JACKSON - A memorial service will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel, for John L. DeMarco, 76, who died Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
John was born Aug. 5, 1937, in Youngstown, to John J. and Mary D. (Cerra) DeMarco.
He was a graduate of Girard High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. John retired from Stamtex Metal Products in 2002 and worked at the VA Youngstown Clinic as an Armed Security Guard for seven years.
He enjoyed gardening and working on the farm, and was able to fix anything. Most of all, John loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife, Eileen T. (Mayoras) DeMarco, whom he married Aug. 19, 1961; a daughter, Johnene DeMarco of North Jackson; a son, John F. DeMarco of North Jackson; three sisters, Shirley Stanford of Masury, Rachel Wood of North Jackson and Carolyn Swift of Tampa; three granddaughters, Crystalin Whitehouse, Brittany Kampher and Alycia DeMarco; and four great-grandchildren, Estarianna and Westley Whitehouse and Mason and Lillyann Kampher.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may call Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
