AUSTINTOWN-Private family services were held today at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for John B. Dutko age 86 of Austintown who passed away Friday morning at the Hospice of the Valley Hospice House. John was born January 19, 1920, in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Joseph and Mary Kmetz Dutko. He had served in the Army during W.W.II and had fought in numerous battles and campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy invasion. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, and retired after working for over 20 years as a welder at Youngstown Steel Door.
He is survived by his wife the former Kathleen "Kay" Monaghan whom he married May 20, 1949, two daughters Karen Dutko of Austintown, and Kathleen Anne Dutko, a sister Mildred, and a brother Andy. He was preceded in death by his parents a sister Stella Stefko, and a brother Joe Dutko.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St. Youngstown, Ohio 44512 in John's Memory.
