POLAND - John R. Flannery, 54, died peacefully February 13, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer.
John was born January 9, 1970, in Youngstown, the son of Robert and Joanne Boughner Flannery.
He attended Struthers High School and worked as a driving instructor for All Star Driving School.
After his recent diagnosis, John was renewed by his faith in God and returned as a member of the Apostolic Assembly of God Church in Mineral Ridge, where he was comforted by their guidance and faith, especially during his final days.
In his spare time, John enjoyed watching movies, cooking, baking and most of all, spending time with his family. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
John is survived by his sister, Jackie (Butch) Brown of Poland; his fiance Joni Blodgett and her sons, Logan and Joey Blodgett; nieces and nephews, Jessie (Nick) Aquisto, Stacey (Jim) Kavouras, Steph (Bob) Benson, Jerry Varga, Jay Weston, Brent Weston, Curtis (Janine) Brown and Cory (Natasha) Flannery; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sherrie Varga and brother Bobby Flannery.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
