AUSTINTOWN - John "Sox" Harasyn, 71, passed away Wednesday morning at his home.
John was born Sept. 1, 1941, in Youngstown, a son of the late John "Butch" and Bridgette Kobly Harasyn.
John was crane operator for Cold Metal Products for 30 years. He was also founder and President of Bush Boy's Club.
John leaves his wife, the former Olive Hoffman, whom he married March 21, 1964; five children, John Harasyn of Austintown, Elizabeth Ann Harasyn McCracken of Youngstown, and her four children, DJ, Desirae, Samantha, and Werner; Bridgette Harasyn Kevin and Anthony of Austintown and her children Adam, Luke, James and John; Peter Harasyn of Austintown; and Janice Jonathan Davis of Las Vegas, and their daughter, Morgan; a sister, Bridget Bohrer of Jamestown, Pa.; and a great-grandchild, Cameron.
John was also preceded death by a sister, Janice Arasim.
Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
Funeral services are pending for Saturday morning.
