AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Monday at 11:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for John W. Hosey age 21 of Austintown who accidentally drown while swimming at Lake Milton Wednesday evening. John who was also known as Lil' John was born October 7, 1983, in Youngstown, the son of John M. and Deanna English Hosey Jr. He had attended Brookfield High School, and later graduated from Life-Skills in Warren where he had walked over eight miles each way to attend. He was presently working as a world class dishwasher at the Youngstown Club, and had previously worked at the Red Lobster in Niles. He was also a range aid for the State of Ohio Motor Cycle Training Program, and was an avid roller blader. John was known for being a very hard worker, and for his generosity for helping others.
He is survived by his mother with whom he made his home in Austintown, his father of Girard, a sister Jessica L. Hosey of Austintown, two brothers, Joe T., and Jason J. Hosey at home, and grandparents, Norma Switzer of Youngstown, Dolores Downing of Boardman, and William and Linda English of Austintown.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather John M. Hosey Sr.
John's family would like to thank among others, the Ohio State Park Rangers, the Milton, and Berlin Twp Fire Departments, and the Mahoning County Volunteer Divers for their dedicated service, and the Lakers Market for their generosity.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the John W. Hosey memorial fund at any Farmers National Bank Branch.
Friends may call from 5 PM to 9 PM Sunday, and for 1/2 hour prior to services Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
