AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for John Henry Karstetter age 79 of Austintwoods Care Center formerly of Chapel Hill Dr. who died Friday afternoon at Forum Northside Hospital.
John was born August 5, 1925, in Altoona, Pa., the son of John H. and Lena Elder Karstetter.
He moved to this area in 1968 and had worked for Westinghouse and General Electric in sales. He later was the owner and operator of Television World in Austintown for 23 years before retiring in 1997. He served in the Army Air Corps during W.W.II was a member of the Saxon Club, VFW Post # 1989, and the American Legion in Indiana, Pa.
His wife, the former Gloria Brickell whom he married November 28, 1952, died December 12, 1996.
He is survived by two daughters, Jody A. and husband Martin Emrich of Austintown, Janice L. Butterfield of Youngstown, and a son Jack and wife Claudette Karstetter of Austintown, two sisters, Pauline and husband Kenneth Fries of Altoona, Pa, and Lois Dykeman of Pittsburgh, Pa, four grandchildren Melanie Perry of Bowling Green, KY, Marty and Sarah Emrich of Austintown, and Travis Butterfield of Youngstown, and a great-grandson Tyler Perry.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by an infant son, and a great-granddaughter Brianna Perry.
