YOUNGSTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Catholic Church, officiated by the Rev. John Keehner, preceded by a 9:20 a.m. prayer service at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, for Mr. John N. Logue, 78, who passed away peacefully Monday morning at Assumption Village, following a short illness, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Mr. Logue will be remembered by all for his kind heart, and willingness to help anyone who may have needed it.
John was born in Youngstown, the only son of John L. and Catherine (Sturgeon) on May 7, 1938.
He was a graduate of South High School in 1956. Following high school graduation, John began his plumbers apprenticeship, and later finished first in his class, becoming a journeymen plumber in July of 1961.
John and his wife, Mary, were lifelong members of St. Christine Parish, where they attended Mass regularly. He had been a member of Youngstown Rotary since 1973, serving as president from 1990 to 1991. John was also a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 213. John retired as executive vice president from the Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania in 2003, after 37 years of service.
John will be lovingly missed by his wife of 51 years, the former Mary A. Suddes, whom he married on Oct. 10, 1964. His memory will also be carried on by his three daughters, Ann Logue (Rik Lantz) of Chicago, Julie Hazy, and Mary Kathleen (Michael) Scudier, both of Youngstown; two sons, John E. (Patricia) of Westerville and Paul (Sarah) of Athens; one sister, Lois Walker of Florida; and seven grandchildren, Andrew Lantz, Francine and Ella Hazy, Jack and Luke Scudier, and Abigail, and Calvin Logue.
Besides his parents, John and Catherine, John was preceded in death by his sister, Mary J. Loftus.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, following the Mass.
