YOUNGSTOWN ? A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church for John ?Jack? McGowan, 90, who passed away on June 7, 2010.
He was born on April 11, 1920, in Youngstown, the son of John and Mary O?Brian McGowan.
Mr. McGowan had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life. He graduated from South High School in Youngstown in 1939.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the Pacific. Mr. McGowan worked at GF Office Furniture as an upholster for 42 years. He was a member of St. Charles Parish in Boardman.
He was preceded in his death by Elizabeth McGowan, his first wife and mother of his children also by his latter wife, Delores McGowan.
He leaves his children, Susan Morey, William McGowan and Jack McGowan; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends and family may call Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Charles Church.
