YOUNGSTOWN - John Nick Molinaro, 95, passed away Aug. 14, 2013.
John, also known as Nick, was born Jan. 6, 1918, in Youngstown, a son of the late Duilio and Enes Molinaro.
He served 35 years in government service. Ten years were with the military as a B-29 Pilot during World War II, and 25 years as Civilian Quality Control Representative for Defense Supply Agency. After the war's end, he volunteered to join a B-29 Photo Reconnaissance Unit in Alaska, where he spent another three years. During his service in Alaska he was granted a commercial pilot license by the Civil Aeronautics Administration, which he never pursued as a occupation. His employment covered duties in Youngstown, Pittsburgh and Cleveland. He was an avid bridge player and a member of the Canfield Bridge Club.
He leaves a brother, Forest Molinaro of Austintown; a sister, Marie Zimmerman of Fairfield; and 12 nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ninfa Ruane and Norma Summers; and a brother, Albert Molinaro.
Family and friends may call Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
