John Pearson

BOARDMAN - Prayers will begin Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church for John C. "Jack" Pearson, 69, who died Saturday morning at the Cleveland Clinic.

Jack was born an American citizen, Sept. 26, 1941, in Panama City, Panama, the son of Chester and Dolores Marandola Pearson.

He returned to the United States when he was 18 and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the B.J. Allen company in 2008, where he had worked as a warehouse manager for seven years. He was a member of St. Christine Church, where he served as an usher and also enjoyed golf and reading. Jack most especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Dillon, whom he married June 20, 1964; three daughters, Deborah Raymond Lanzo of Boardman, Sharon Dr. Joseph Francisco of Canfield and Jacqueline Bender of Austintown; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Ross Lanzo, Isabella, Gia and Amelia Francisco and Austin and Stone Bender; two sisters, June Fred Toto and Carol Faye, both of Youngstown; and two brothers, Chester Josie Pearson of Struthers and Tom Reyna Pearson of El Paso, Texas.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Pearson.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.

The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for Cancer Research in Jack's memory.
