AUSTINTOWN - A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren, for John Vazur, 95, who died late Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
John was born Aug. 21, 1921, in Velaty, Czechoslovakia, the son of Paul and Anna (Sunog) Vazur.
He worked for Isaly's Dairy for 29 years and White Star Trucking as a truck driver for 10 years until retiring.
John was a longtime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church. He enjoyed watching sports and often bowled.
John is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth "Betty" Sudik, whom he married July 12, 1952; a brother, Andrew Vazur of Columbus; granddaughter Robyn Vazur; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Lennon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Annette Vazur; son Michael Vazur; and brother Paul Vazur.
Family and friends may call Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 180 Belvedere NE in Warren.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley.
