POLAND....Services will be Thursday at 9:15 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church for Joseph E. Biroschak Sr. age 82 of Poland who passed away early Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Joe was born February 3, 1923 in Poland the son of Cornelius and Mary Kazubal Biroschak. He was the co-founder of Hames Construction and Equipment Company in North Lima, and a member of the National Pipeline Contractors Association. He was a charter member of Holy Family Church, where he had served as an usher, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 4471 in Poland, and in 1989 was enducted into it's Hall of Fame, and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He had also served as a Boy Scout Leader for Troup # 43 in Poland. Joe enjoyed snowmobiling, and was a member of the Drummond Island Snowmobile Club, and the Island Hoppers Snowmobile Club.
He is survived by his wife the former Margaret Kosco whom he married September 15, 1945,
a daughter Karen Michael McGarry of Poland, five sons, Joseph Kathy Biroscak Jr. Berlin Twp., Ronald Mary Jo Biroschak of New Springfield, Thomas Biroschak of Poland, Timothy Margaret Williams Biroschak of New Middletown, and Mark Teresa Loney Biroschak of Boardman, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a brother John Biroschak of Poland.
He was preceded in death by a grand-daughter Katie Biroschak, five sisters Matilda Nivert, Helen Bacon, Sophie Swedik, Ann Yhan, and Mary Kavulic, and two brothers, Steve, and Mike Biroschak.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Katie Biroschak memorial scholorship fund in care of Farmers National Bank.
