BOARDMAN...Joseph A. Chimento entered into eternal rest on Oct. 16, 2005.
Mr. Chimento was born in Youngstown on March 19, 1928 and lived in this area most of his life. He was born to Frank and Mary Chimento, who lived in the
now historical Smokey Hollow area of Youngstown.
Joe attended Youngstown State University and was an outstanding athlete, having played football on two championshiop teams at Ursuline High School.
Joe graduated from Ursuline High School in 1948 and continued to be an avid sports fan throughout his life. To his friends and family, Joe was known as ³Mr. Sports.² He was always ready to tell you ³everything you ever wanted to
know about football,² at the slightest provocation. Although he loved other sports, football was his favorite.
Mr. Chimento was inducted in the Ursuline Football Hall of Fame and received many football awards throughout his active career as a team player.
Joe also proudly served his country during the Korean War Conflict.
Joe was a well-known figure in the business community in Boardman, having worked for Cerni Pontiac, Brownlee Pontiac, Stadium-Lincoln Mercury and most recently at Donnell Ford. Throughout his professional career, Joe received
many awards for outstanding sales performance. Mr. Chimento had a special place in his heart for his co-workers at Donnell Ford, saying they were like a second family to him.
Mr. Chimento was a ³team² player, consumate professional and always a
³cheerleader² for others. He always had a good word to say bout everyone and ³cheered² for his family and friends, always encouraging them.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carole A. Sharkey-Chimento; a daughter, Renee Rader of Springboro; a stepdaughter, Deborah L. Ernie Guido of Dallas; a stepson, Dale T. Kim Gaydos of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Aaron Stevens and Laura Rader; a great-grandughter, Katelynn R. Stevens; and his precious cat, ³Jessica.²
Mr. Chimento also leaves two brothers, Augustine Kathy Chimento of Boardman and Frank Chimento of Youngstown; a sister, Sarah Clacko of Poland; and several neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Chimento, and brothers, Carmen Chimento and Dante Chimento.
Joe attended the Highway Tabernacle Church in Austintown.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfiled Chaple.
There will be a private funeral service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
