YOUNGSTOWN - A funeral service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Joseph "Judgie" Fajack, 83, who passed away Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
"Joe" was born Oct. 14, 1933, in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph and Della (Kimotek) Fajack.
Joe was a 1951 graduate of South High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Joe retired in 1992 as a detective from the Youngstown Police Department after 33 years of service. He taught at the Police Academy and was a member of the F.O.P. No. 28 and the VFW. He was awarded the Officer of the Year Award and received his retired No. 1 badge. The Chamber of Commerce also named him an acclamation recipient.
Joe leaves his wife, the former JoAnne Pallante, whom he married April 7, 1956; two daughters, Michele (Gary) Nicholson of Painesville and Sonja (Scott) Morton of Canal Fulton; a son, Ralph (Veronica Williams) Fajack of Boardman; and seven grandchildren, Katie Noble, Lizz Noble, Nick Fajack, Mike, and Chris Arocho, and Jake and Zach Morton.
Joe was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Maria Fajack; and a brother, William "Buzzy" Fajack.
Family and friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
