YOUNGSTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church, Canfield, for Joseph A. Miklos, 87, who died Friday evening at Covenant Care Hospice in Panama City, Fla.
Joseph was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Youngstown, to Joseph S. and Julia (Potemra) Miklos.
He was a 1944 graduate of Chaney High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a self-employed financial advisor and investor.
Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed on the U.S.S. Alabama.
He was a member of St. Christine and St. Joseph Church. He was also a member of the Gaelic Golf League and the Saxon Club.
Joseph is survived by his wife, the former Delfine (Pungock), who he married March 19, 2011; three sons, Russell (Diane) of Canfield, Robert (Tina) of Hanover, Mass., and Daniel of Youngstown; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Julia (Joseph) Maruskin of Boardman; two stepchildren, Renee (Frank Goetze) O'Shaughnessy of Sewickley, Pa. and Thomas (Teresa) Pungock of North Carolina; and nine stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 59 years, Eleanor Pinchot, whom he married in June of 1948; his son, Michael Miklos; and his sister, Margaret Ryalls.
Family and friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Covenant Care Hospice, 107 West 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
