Joseph Poprosky

AUSTINTOWN-Services will be Monday at 10:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Joseph S. Poprosky Sr. age 85 of DeHoff Dr. who died Friday morning at Forum Northside Medical Center. Joseph was born September 6, 1918, in Youngstown, the son of John and Julia Salata Poprosky. He had worked as a special delivery carrier for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring. He had served in the Army Air Corps as a Corporal during W.W.II, serving in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters. He was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Saxon Club, the I.T.A.M., and the Mannerchor club.
His wife the former Victoria DiBattista whom he married May 23, 1949, died November 12, 2001.
He is survived by a daughter, Renee George Bradovitch of Sharpsville, Pa., four sons, Joseph S. Poprosky Jr. of Pittsburgh, John Michael Poprosky, and Richard Poprosky both of Austintown, and Ron Poprosky of Mission Viejo, California, a granddaughter Melissa Duncan, and three great-grandchildren, Jenna, Ty, and Ian.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Kalmer, and Wilma Klein, and two brothers, John and Albert Poprosky.
Friends may call from 5 PM to 8 PM Sunday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
