March 12, 2012 — March 12, 2012

AUSTINTOWN - A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Austintown Community Church for Joseph A. Slusarcyk, 60, who passed away Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Joseph was born Feb. 6, 1952, in Martin's Ferry, a son of Joseph A. and Janet B. Goldsborough Slusarcyk Sr.

Joseph was a 1970 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School. He received and honorable discharge in 1976 from the Air Force Reserves. He worked at GM Lordstown for 36 years and was a member of the UAW Local 1112.

Joseph was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved going to Daytona Beach and camping at Cooks Forest. Anyone who knew him knows to only buy him things that are made in the United States.

His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Joseph's memory will live on within the hearts of his wife, the former Pamela A. Haney, whom he married July 22, 1972; his two daughters, Tara Jeff Fisher of Austintown and Tiffany Jason Lynn of Warren; his greatest pride and joy, his two grandchildren, Liam and Ava Fisher; his mother, Janet Long of Florida; his two sisters, Pam Bob Luyster of Adena and Kim Troy Fillmore of Florida; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Haney of Leavittsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, Clyde Long; and his father-in-law, Richard Haney.

Family and friends may call Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
