CANFIELD - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at 10 a.m., at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel, for Joseph Wargacki Jr., 91, who died Tuesday morning at Briarfield Manor.
Joseph was born on May 2, 1924, in Mineral Ridge, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Agnes (Albrecht) Wargacki.
Joseph was a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. After graduation, Joseph worked as an overhead cranemen for US Steel McDonald Works for 35 years. He was also a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Austintown for 56 years.
Joseph loved the outdoors, especially the farm that he and his wife, Kathryn, purchased in 1961. He enjoyed farming and rebuilding farm equipment. He was known as the neighborhood repairman for all farm equipment.
Joseph leaves behind his wife, Kathryn Terlecky, whom he married on April 18, 1959; his stepdaughter, Donna (Richard) Rohrbaugh Lauby of Punta Gorda, Fla.; stepson Larry J. (Sue A.) Rohrbaugh Sr. of Pickens, S.C.; a sister, Genevieve Shehy of Rochester, N.Y.; six stepgrandchildren, Larry Jr., Sherry Robinson, Michael (Tara) Rohrbaugh, Linda Rohrbaugh, Holly (Danen) Butko Thibideau, Joseph (Kristin) Butko; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
Joseph was preceded in death by his stepson, Fred Rohrbaugh; three brothers, Frank, Adolf and John Wargacki; and his sister, Mary Smusz.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, July 31, 2015, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
The family requests that material tributes be made to the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Austintown.
