Poland- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30pm Thursday at the St. Brendans Church for Josephine Giba, of North Jackson, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away Sunday Afternoon at the Hospice House surrounded by her family and her beloved dog Wendy.
Josephine was born in Elenora, PA January 5, 1924 to the Late Michael And Mary Susor Yatsco, she was raised by Anna and Joseph Petrick.
She was a Chaney High School graduate, a member of St. Brendans Parish and the Alter Rosary Society.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank D. Giba whom she married on October 12, 1946, passed September 6, 1986; two sisters, Helen Biroschak and Margaret Greenfield; seven brothers, George, Joseph, Fr. Andrew, Carl, Paul, Michael Yatsco, Jr., and Joseph Petrick.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Robert Grubb of North Jackson, and Phyllis Allen Wasyzychyn of Lake Milton, a grandson Allan Michael Wasyzychyn, and a sister Elizabeth Chester Sudol of Austintown.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8pm at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. Prayers will be said Thursday 11:45am at the Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House.
