AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Josephine M. Lombardo, 89, who passed away Thursday morning at Briarfield Manor.
Josephine was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Rose Altier Vigeon.
Josephine was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church's Altar and Rosary Society. She loved bingo, playing cards and she was a good cook.
Her husband, Fred A. Lombardo, whom she married May 4, 1946, passed away Jan. 23, 2011.
Josephine leaves her three daughters, Jean Bob Tatarka of Davidson, N.C., Karen George Purdy of Newton Falls, and Joann William Hunter of Austintown; a sister, Geraldine Howe of Chicago; a brother, Anthony Vigeon of California; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lombardo; five sisters, Isabel Genevish, Carmilla Edwards Sr. Rosemary Vigeon, Florence Campana, and Anne Locketti; and a brother, Michael Viggiano.
Family and friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to MVI Hospice.
