POLAND - A private committal service will be held Saturday morning at Union Cemetery Chapel, in Columbus, for Joyce Merullo, 80, who died early Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Joyce was born Aug. 28, 1933, in Pomeroy, the daughter of Rob and Bernice (Strickland) Webster.
She retired in 1993, after working as a Senior Claims Examiner for over 14 years for Central Benefits. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Columbus and enjoyed spending time with her family. She moved to Poland from Columbus 13 years ago.
She is survived by her husband, Santo Merullo, whom she married Feb. 16, 1957; two daughters, Karen (Peter) Woodlock of Poland and Jean (Benjamin) Estkowski of Hilliard; a son, Michael (Lisa) Merullo of Upper Arlington; three grandsons, Mark and Eric Woodlock and Cameron Merullo; and two sisters, Dorothy Ernst of Phoenix and Eleanor (Robert) Myers of Akron.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Salvation Army in Joyce's memory.
