Boardman- A memorial celebration of the life of Judie A. Handel age 50 , will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at St. Maron Maronite Catholic Church in Youngstown. Judie died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon and went to join her daughter Shelly who preceded her in death a year ago.
Judie was born Dec. 23, 1955 in Youngstown a daughter of Chester and Dorothy Wydelski Jurus.
She was a 1974 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School where she was the Captain of the Cheerleading squad; She was a dedicated daughter, wife and mom who devoted the last 20 years caring and nurturing her eldest daughter Shelly . She truly enjoyed her family. Judie was the assistant to the president of Handel Investment, a supporter of the Easter Seals, loved to travel and enjoyed Belly dancing.
She is survived by her husband David L. Handel whom she married Sept. 25, 1981, her parents Chester and Dorothy Jurus of Struthers; two daughters Adrienne and Jenny Handel both at home and son David at home; a brother Michael of Boca Raton, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her daughter ' Rachelle "Shelly".
Friends may call from 4:00 - 6:45 PM , Tuesday evening at St. Maron Church 1555 S. Meridian Road.
The Family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Easter Seals Society of Mahoning County, 299 Edwards Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44502.
Arrangements are by the Higgins -Reardon Funeral Home Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
