AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church for Julia Marie Pingatore Laska, 89, who entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 19, and is at last, reunited with her wonderful husband, Bill Laska, who sadly departed this earth in 2007.

She was born in Indiana, Pa., to parents Marie and Anthony Pingatore on April 24, 1923.

She grew up and spent the majority of her lifetime in Beaver Falls, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; as well as her sisters, Helen Corcoran, Mary Capparelli, and Josephine Young; and her brothers, Louis and Robert Pingatore.

Julia leaves her two daughters, Cathy Tony Rozzi of Austintown, with whom she made her residence and Jodi Bill Frkuska of Navarre. She also leaves her amazing grandchildren, who were her world, Gino and Catrina Rozzi, also of Austintown. She will also be leaving behind several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She worked for Armstrong World Industries during World War II.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Austintown, but was a prior member of the Christ the Devine Teacher Church in Beaver Falls, where she was very active in many church events through the years.

The family of Julia Marie Pingatore Laska would like to give a special thanks to the Hospice House nurses, aides, and staff. Also, a special thanks to the nurses, aides, and other staff members on the 3-West wing at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center where she affectionately became known as "sweet Julia." A special thanks to both for taking such extraordinary care of her and for making her last days as comfortable as possible.

Family and friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrot Road, Poland, OH 44514.
