Services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in West Milton, PA for June "Violet" McCormick age 82 who passed away Wednesday, July 4th after a long illness at the Assumption Village in Youngstown where she had been a resident for the past four years.
June who was also known as Violet was born March 3, 1925, in Erie County, PA, the daughter of Stella Malady Showers.
She had owned and operated Vi's Beauty Shop in West Milton for 26 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in West Milton and the West Milton Garden Club.
Her husband Charles L. McCormick of New Columbia, PA whom she married in April of 1941 died October 7, 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Pete Gabriel of Youngstown, and Sharon Miller of Milton, PA, three granddaughters, Wynne Steve Coleman, Lori Mike McGlone, and Billie Morelli, and a grandson David Gabriel, five great-grandchildren, Alex Morello, Gabby Coleman, Catie Coleman, and Jack and Maggie McGlone.
June's family would like to thank the staff at Assumption Village for their wonderful care during her stay there.
Friends may call from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM Saturday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in West Milton.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the church memorial fund in her memory.
