YOUNGSTOWN - A celebration of life will be held Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at Davidson's Restaurant for June Lucille Rolfe, 89, who died Saturday at Camelot Arms Care Center.
June was born Oct. 5, 1925, the daughter of William and Florence Layton Flaherty.
She was a homemaker and a self-employed bookkeeper.
June was a mother, grandma, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who lived her life to the fullest until her final days. Her smile was brighter than the sun, and her touch always warmed the hearts of others.
One of her favorite scriptures, 1 Corinthians 13:4, "Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud," is how she lived her life. Through love and giving, she has touched many hearts by giving and providing because that was her personality. She cherished every moment of her life through family.
"Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother has now joined our Lord, to walk the streets paved with gold while joining her mother and husband for the traditional family dinner and conversation that she so missed. My mother will never be forgotten, as I feel her presence all around me, reassuring me everything will be okay. You will be missed but not forgotten."
Besides her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Harrison Rolfe, on Feb. 22, 2004; and a brother and sister.
Among others, she is survived by a daughter, Debra L. Clark-Smith, with whom she made her home, and a grandson, Darryl. N. Smith.
Professional arrangements are by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
