Karen Razo

June 29, 1950 — July 28, 2016

CANFIELD - Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Karen L. Razo, 66, who passed away Thursday afternoon at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m., at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, with Pastor Jay Eastman officiating.

Mrs. Razo was born on June 29, 1950, daughter of Dr. Gordon and Marjorie (Knuth) Hopes, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Karen graduated with honors from Liberty High School in 1968, before beginning her college education at Kent State University, where she graduated with her Bachelor's degree as a Medical Technologist. She worked for 44 years at Trumbull Memorial Hospital as a medical technologist and was working towards retirement when her health declined.

Karen was an avid horse lover, reader, and was a member of the Up and Over club. She also enjoyed going to the movies. Most importantly, Karen loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.

Karen leaves behind to cherish all their wonderful memories, her husband, Michael W. Razo, whom she married on Sept. 18, 1982; two daughters, Leslie Christiansen of Boardman and Rebecca Razo of Canfield; two sisters, Judith (Gary) Smith of Struthers and Barbara (Stephen) McCumber of Cortland; two grandchildren, Addison and Mckenna; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Hubbard Union Cemetery following the service.
