AUSTINTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Youngstown, for Karolyn McMahon, 76, who died Sunday evening at Omni Manor.
A daughter of Kenneth and Mary Dunnigan McMahon, Karolyn was born in Youngstown on July 21, 1938.
She graduated from Hiram with a B.A., from Akron with an M.A., and retired from the Austintown schools in 1986, where she taught sixth grade and also was a guidance counselor.
Karolyn was a member of the church and the Austintown Retired Teachers Association.
She leaves her four sisters, Eleanor (Richard) Highmam of Youngstown, Sarah Chole of Columbus, and Marolyn (George) Biscan and Tina (Bill) Vanzandt, both of Austintown; two brothers, Kenneth (Bernadine) McMahon of Avon and Michael (Maria) McMahon of Chardon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley in memory of Karolyn.
Arrangements are by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
