STRUTHERS - Private services were held at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Katherine A. Heckman, 47, who died Tuesday evening at Robinson Memorial Hospital after a four year fight with cancer.
Kathy was born Sept. 20, 1965, in Youngstown, the daughter of Ruth Klapac.
She graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and enjoyed her work as a printer with Insty-Prints for 10 years then with Boardman Medical for several years. Kathy also enjoyed fishing and ghost hunting.
Her husband, James S. Heckman, whom she married March 19, 1987, died Jan. 24, 1992.
Kathy leaves her mother, with whom she made her home; a brother, John M. (Carolyn) Rodesh and their children, Nicole, Kara, John and Emily; a brother, Joseph A. Rodesh and his son, Jacob; three great-nieces, Gianna, Nina and Mia Jean; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and most of all, her dog and faithful companion, Walter.
Kathy will be greatly missed by all her family and friends, especially Delani and Dalton Haas and Patrick Consiglio.
The family wishes to thank the entire second floor staff at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna for the wonderful care they gave Kathy.
