Katherine A. Manche, 65, passed away on June 5,2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
She was born on October 29, 1958, in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Vodilko Rovnak.
A 1977 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, Katherine's love for learning and dedication to her work were evident throughout her life. She led a diverse career as a steelworker for Hynes Industries and Republic Steel. Additionally, she showcased her creativity and passion as a cake decorator for various bakeries in the area, including her brother's bakery, Mr. Paul's.
Her vibrant personality shone through as she had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone she met, striking up conversations effortlessly.
Her fondest memories included spending time with her husband and her family. Katherine adored animals, children, and treasured moments spent swimming.
Katherine is survived by her loving husband James D. Manche, whom she married April 20, 1996; siblings, Frances Costello of Austintown, Patricia Yonnotti of Boardman, Shirley DeSantis of Surf City, SC, Helen Durflinger of Boardman, Rosemary Stickel of Niles, and Michael Rovnak of Youngstown. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who meant the world to her.
She is now reunited with her parents; infant brothers, Paul and Michael; brothers, John, Paul and Steve; and sisters, Elizabeth, Mary and Suzan.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, June 13, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at St. Christine Church,3165 S. Schenley Ave. Youngstown, OH 44511 where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to James to assist him during this time.
