Kathleen Myers

January 20, 1946 — August 10, 2017

Kathleen ("Kathy") Myers, 69, a lifelong resident of Youngstown, passed away after a series of health complications on August 10, 2017. Kathy was born January 20, 1948, the youngest daughter of Elmo and Mary (McCormick) Holleran. She was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and a retired nurse, having worked at several nursing homes in the area.

True to her Irish heritage, Kathy was a strong and stubborn woman, happy with the simple things in life. She supported her kids and grandkids through thick and thin. You could always find her at the local football field or baseball diamond cheering her kids on considering they were all blessed with the athleticism that somehow escaped her. She could out-eat anyone at Red Lobster's "All-You-Can-Eat Crab Legs" night, was an avid Days of Our Lives viewer, and if she had her way, is now sitting in heaven with her sisters looking for the loosest slot machines (and the free drinks). She will forever be remembered for her quick wit, contagious laugh, and obsession with Reese's Cups.

She is survived by son, Mark (Maggie) Myers and grandson, Maxwell; daughter, Laura Myers and grandson, Brandon; and daughter Jill Baumgartner, and granddaughter Ava; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jack Holleran, her sisters Anne Murphy and Mary Ellen Lyden, and her brother-in-law, John Lyden.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:15a.m., followed by a Christian burial service at St. Christine Church at 11:00am.

The family would like to offer its sincerest gratitude to the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Valley for their support and care during Kathy's final days on earth.
