YOUNGSTOWN — Kathryn R. Wargacki, 100, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Punta Gorda, Fla.
Kathryn was born June 20, 1920, in Youngstown, the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Katinsky Terlecky.
Kathryn worked for US Steel Corp as a data entry operator until leaving to fulfill the needs of her family as a homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. She enjoyed engaging in conversations about the Lord, the Bible and current events. She and her three sisters sang together for many years in a gospel quartet. They were privileged to record songs in Ukrainian for a radio ministry that broadcast into eastern Europe. Kathryn also volunteered as a telephone counselor for the”700 Club” ministry in the Youngstown area.
She was a Sunday school teacher and choir member at Bethel Temple Assembly of God church for many years, and most recently attended Praise Assembly in Niles.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Larry J. (Sue) Rohrbaugh and Donna (Richard) Lauby; six grandchildren, Joseph Butko, Holly Thibodeau, Michael Rohrbaugh, Sharon Robinson, Linda Rohrbaugh and Larry Rohrbaugh Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren, Joshua, Katelyn, Madison, Elizabeth, Arianna, Isabel, Noah and Kassie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Mary; her first husband, Fred W. Rohrbaugh, who died in 1954, and second husband, Joseph Wargacki Jr., who died in 2015; her son, Fred W. Rohrbaugh Jr., who died in 2011; sisters, Ann Chuey, Stella Wargacki and Mary Geric; and brother, John Terlecky.
A private family service was held for Kathryn, and she was laid to rest in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Professional arrangements are being handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Jackson Milton Chapel.
