Keith Ian Downie

Keith Ian Downie passed away at his home on February 21, 2024, at the age of 65. 

Keith was preceeded in death by his parents, Douglas and Rita, and his brother Doug (Lori). He is survived and will be deeply missed by his longtime girlfriend, Christine Kalhoun, his sisters Jan (Ed) Szari of Youngstown, and Barbara (Robert) Friedman of Columbus and his brother Paul of Youngstown and many nephews and nieces.

Keith was born in Youngstown where he lived all his life, and was a 1976 graduate of Chaney High School.

Keith was giving to his friends, family and community.  He loved music, playing guitar throughout his youth, and nurtured his nephew’s musical interests by generously giving him his guitar. He gave of his time by tending to his community’s garden.  As a career cook and baker, he loved sharing his talents with friends and family.

Keith had an amazing sense of humor, and if you knew him, you knew some jokes were self admitted groaners (a Keith original) and some could reduce you to tears of laughter.

Keith’s faith in God was extremely important in his life and he had a deep love for his longtime girlfriend Christine. 

Services will be on Saturday March 2nd with calling hours from 10 to 11 a.m., where the service will follow at 11 a.m. at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman- Canfield Chapel.
