Kevin Goodman

NEW MIDDLETOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at St. Paul the Apostle Church for Kevin B. Goodman, 64, who died Friday afternoon while surrounded by friends and family at Hospice House.
Kevin was born April 3, 1949, in New Castle, Pa., to Kevin and Stella (Habib) Goodman.
He graduated from New Castle High School and the DeVry Institute, where he studied electronics.
He proudly served as a lance corporal with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War.
After being discharged from the Marine Corps, Kevin worked for 3M and ComDoc repairing photocopiers and was selected as one of the top 10 copier repair technicians in the United States.
Kevin subsequently retired from the General Electric Company, where he worked as a machine mechanic. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, VFW Post 2799, the Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio Association, the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, and the Mahoning Sportsmen's Association.
Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and also meeting new friends through amateur radio. He will be remembered by all as someone who could fix anything and enjoyed helping those in need.
He is survived by his wife, Luanne (Parrish), whom he married April 6, 2013; a son, Atty. Kevin (Dr. Jennifer) Goodman of Cleveland; two stepdaughters, Carrie (Edward) Such of Campbell and Dominique Ruggiero of Austintown; two brothers, Kenneth (Colleen) Goodman of Mineral Ridge and Timothy Goodman (Annie Larkin) of New Castle; two step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Kerry Goodman.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
The family has requested that memorial tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH.
