BOARDMAN-Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Larry D. McCracken age 61 of Boardman who passed away Friday morning at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. Larry was born March 3, 1946, in New Castle, PA, the son of Harry E. and Ella Irene Booth McCracken. He was a 1964 graduate of Levittsburgh High School. Larry began his career as a truck driver at the Youngstown Carthage Company, and later at R & J Trucking. He was currently the owner/operator of 330 Ohio Truck Lines until the time of his illness. Larry loved driving his semi on the road, and also enjoyed participating annually at the Canfield Fair's Antique Farm Equipment Pageant with his 1941 gray Ford Tractor.
Larry is survived by his wife the former Geraldine Melewski whom he married November 11, 1978, three daughters Bonnie Smith of Ashtabula, Kelly McCracken of Girard, Dawn Tentinger of New Middletown, a son Patrick McCracken of Boardman, and six grandchildren, Kristin, Ryan, Matthew, Elizabeth, Clara-Marie, and Joel.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Carol McCracken, and a brother Brian McCracken.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association in Larry's memory.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM Tuesday and for one hour prior to services Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
