AUSTINTOWN — Laura Hochendoner, 66, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at Park Center Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Boardman.
Laura was born Sept. 24, 1958, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Jerome and Margaret Hochendoner.
She graduated from Jackson Milton High School in 1976, where she starred as an athlete on both the basketball and track and field teams.
After graduation, she began a career in environmental services with various manufacturing and healthcare facilities across the Mahoning Valley, most recently at Sharon Regional Medical Center. Laura was known by her colleagues and employees as a hard worker and supportive leader with high standards for how a job should be done. She also spent time as a dedicated caregiver to her mother, Margaret, in her final years.
She enjoyed time spent cooking meals for her family, many hours working outdoors, church services at St. Catherine Catholic Church, and most of all, a lifetime spent on the waters of Lake Milton with friends and family. Laura was the proud mother to three children, Emma, Bradley and Nicholas, and she took great pride in their achievements in work, sports and life. She also was blessed to be a grandmother to three.
She is survived by her children, Emma Johnston, Bradley Hochendoner and Nicholas (Sarah) Serb; and grandchildren, Shoni, Jude and Gabriel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sanctuary Hospice and / or Park Center Rehab in honor of the great care taken of Laura in her time of need.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
