AUSTINTOWN-Services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Lawrence E. Reese age 70 of Austintown who passed away Monday morning at the Cleveland Clinic from complications following surgery. Larry was born July 14, 1937 in Youngstown, the son of Edward and Florence Reese. A 1956 graduate of South High School he had served in the Air Force Special Forces as a Jump Master in the Green Berets during the Korean War. He later attended Youngstown State University and worked in plant protection at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Corporation. He also had worked as a special deputy for the Mahoning County Sheriffs Department before retiring.
He was a member of the American Legion Post # 0737 of Lake Milton, and had been a social member of the AOH.
He had been active in area youth athletics and had served as a couch for the Cornersburg Raiders, the Austintown Little League and the Austintown Soccer Club.
He is remembered as a dedicated husband and father and true family man by his wife the former Flora J. Lefore whom he married February 11, 1961, a daughter Angela Buddy Flowers of Louisville, KY, three sons Larry A. Reese of Youngstown, Eric Colleena Reese of Youngstown, and Ryan M. Teddi Reese of Cincinnati, a brother Thomas Lori Reese of Canton, OH, seven grandchildren Brittany and Joseph Ryan, McKenna and Morgan Reese, MiKeala Flowers, and Rylee and Kyra Reese, a graet grandson Kobe Ryan, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Carol Ann Reese.
