BOARDMAN - A committal service will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Green Haven Memorial Gardens for Lee A. Niswander Jr., 83, who passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening.
Lee was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Bluefield, W.Va., a son of the late Lee A. and Hazel French Niswander Sr.
Lee graduated from Mt. Vernon Academy in Mt. Vernon, where he was class president and was active in the alumni. He then attended Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich. He served in the Air Force and was a cryptographer for four years. Lee started working at Rish Equipment in Roanoke, Va. and then was transferred to Dravo-Marks Equipment Company, where he was a sales representative and branch manager before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Boardman United Methodist Church and enjoyed his beach house in the Outer Banks, N.C.
Lee leaves his wife, the former Dorris Carter, whom he married June 9, 1949; three daughters, Suzanne Anthony Oddo of Greenford, Lyn Dr. Robert Handel of Seattle, and Debra John Fabanish of Monrovia, Calif.; and seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Christina, and Jacquelyn Oddo, Carter and Alex Handel, and Nicholas and Katie Fabanish.
Lee was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Niswander.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
