Youngstown- Funeral services will be 10:00AM Saturday at Gibson Heights Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Lila C. Rice, age 83, of Youngstown who died early Wednesday morning at the Hospice House.
Lila was born April 30, 1925 in Utica, New York to the late Harold and Lila Bryce Wright.
She came to the area as a child, she graduated from East High School class of 1943, and graduated from the Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. Her professional careear as a Registered Nurse started at South Side Hospital. She was the director of nursing at Little Forest Medical Care Center, as well as at Park Vista. She retired in 1988.
Lila was a member of Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paul M. Rice, Sr., they married September 5, 1953, he died May 29, 1974. she is also preceded by two brothers, Walter and Harold Wright.
She is survived by her son Paul M. Diane Rice, Jr., of Poland, two beloved grandaughters, Allison and Julie Rice of Poland. She also leaves her sister Nancy Huggins of Pittsburgh.
Friends may call Friday from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Friends may also call one half hour9:30-10:00AM prior to services at the Church, 755 E. Dewey Ave.
