AUSTINTOWN There will be services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Victory
Christian Center for Lillian K. Slavich Evankovich, 82, formerly of
Struthers who passed away Saturday afternoon at Forum Northside Hospital.
Lillian was born June 13, 1924, in Bessemer, Pa., the daughter of John and Mary Cetina Slavich. She moved to Struthers in 1943 and to Austintown in 1995.
Mrs. Evankovich was an office custodian for Metro Maintenance for more than 23 years before retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Woman¹s Ministries of the Assemblies of God and the Highway Tabernacle Senior Citizens. Lillian was a proud homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, cake decorating, knitting, crocheting, cut-work embroidery and gardening.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Carter of Austintown and JuliaAndrew Sr. Lakatos of Campbell; a son, Dale J.Catherine Evankovich of
Copley; three sisters, Mildred Colcheski of Ocala, Fla., Mary Cyril Zalar of Cleveland and Dorothy Tom Busin of New Castle, Pa.; nine grandchildren,
Christine Eugene Cornell of Austintown, Jeffrey Courtney Carter of New Castle, Douglas Carter of Las Vegas, Andrew Lakatos Jr. and Rebecca Lakatos,
both of Campbell, and Kimberly, Daniel, Amy and Benjamin Evankovich of Copley; and four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas and Kyle Cornell of
Austintown and Aiden Michael Carter of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Evankovich, and three brothers, Edward, Vladimir and Rudolph Slavich.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
