AUSTINTOWN - A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Mrs. Lillian E. Petrick, 91, who died Sunday evening at Vibra Hospital.
She was born Aug. 13, 1922, in McDonald, a daughter of John and Mary Novosel Pucekovich.
Lillian was a 1941 graduate of McDonald High, had worked at Rosensteel Insurance Company, Niles, and Montgomery Wards in Warren. She was a charter member of the church, a member of the Senior Citizens group, its Altar and Rosary Society, a member of the Raccoon Road Block Rosary for 50 years, Strossmayer Singing Society and Lodge 598 CFU McDonald, where she served as President for many years.
Lillian was married to Carl Petrick, whom she married Jan. 13, 1945, and he died Sept. 24, 1998.
Lillian had the best smile. It would light up a room.
She leaves her two daughters, Marilyn Szczotka of La Habra, Calif., and Kathy (Tom Anderson) Petrick, with whom she made her home; daughter-in-law Jeanette Petrick of Napa Valley, CA; three grandchildren, Jesse (Naomi) Petrick, Paris (Steve) Beukelman and Nathan (Jennifer) Szczotka; and three great-grandchildren, Jack Beukelman, Max Petrick and Ava Szczotka.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Carl Petrick Jr.; and her sister, Veronica Pucekovich.
The family wants to extend their grateful appreciation for all the care Lillian received at St. Elizabeth Emergency Austintown, St. Elizabeth Health Center, Select Care, ValleyCare Northside and its ICU, and also, Vibra Hospital.
Friends may call today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
