Linda Dinsio

June 23, 1937 — August 25, 2016

COLUMBIANA - Linda "Lynn" Mulligan Dinsio passed on to the next life from Alzheimer's disease on Aug. 25, with her daughter, Melissa, by her side.
Lynn was born on July 23, 1937, in Jacksonville, Ala., the youngest child of Thomas and Mary Tate Mulligan. The family relocated to the Brier Hill section of Youngstown in 1940.
While Lynn attended The Rayen School, where she enjoyed performing as a majorette, she developed a love for dance. That love for dance blossomed into Lynn's career as a professional ballroom dancer, and she traveled the world as an entertainer.
When Lynn was not traveling, she taught dance at Arthur Murray's, where her life changed forever. Amil Dinsio walked into Arthur Murray's because he thought Lynn was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. It did not take long for the couple to fall in love, and they married on Feb. 24, 1968. Lynn and Amil supported each other through any tribulations in their life together.
Lynn always will be remembered for her incredible beauty and exquisite sense of style. Those who were close to Lynn will recall her great love for animals and her contributions to causes advocating the rights of animals.
Aside from her parents, Lynn has joined her sister, Juanita Mulligan Avato; and her two brothers, Thomas and Charles Mulligan.
Those who have not yet joined Lynn include her husband, Amil; her three daughters, Deborah (Kevin) Tice, Atty. Melissa (Daniel P. Miller) Dinsio, and Amie (Michael) Englehart; Lynn's niece, Michelle (Alan Gearhart) Mulligan, whom she raised and several other nieces and nephews; and Lynn's lifelong, best friend, Regina Rieseck. Lynn also had four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center for their exceptional care of and obvious love for Lynn before and after her passing.
