Linwood H. Chamberlain, Sr., 84
Poland- Funeral Services will be 1PM Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Cornersburg, for Linwood H. Chamberlain, Sr. Age 84, of Boardman who passed away Sunday Morning at the Hospice House after a long battle with congestive heart failure.
Linwood was born February 24, 1923 in Ryegate, VT to the late Harry Bradley and Lydia Mina Heath Chamberlain.
Mr. Chamberlain was a Stationary Engineer at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube for over 30 years retiring when the plant closed.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran serving as a medic in New Guinea and Luzon where he earned three Bronze Stars.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife the former Elizabeth Lawson who passed July 28, 1994; four brothers Herb, Ruben, Perley, and Pete Chamberlain, and a sister Marty Boardman.
He is survived by a daughter Sue Paul DeVito of Austintown, a son Rev. Dr. Linwood Peggy Chamberlain of Lorain, two sisters, Bernice Nelson and Dora Gagnon both of Beloit, a brother Harry Helen Chamberlain of Beloit. Four grandchildren Lisa Rick John, Chris Jessica DeVito, Andrew Chamberlain, and Alynn John Duplaga, and four great-grandchildren, Nathan and Melina John, Quinn Chamberlain, and Joel Duplaga. He also leaves his good friend, Catherine Niemi.
Friends may call Thursday 4-7PM in the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel; and Friday Noon to 1pm at the Church prior to services.
Internment at Forest Lawn Cemetery with military honors.
