CAMPBELL - Lonny "Rambo" Lou Smith, 52, took the "Stairway to Heaven" on May 31, 2011.

He was born on Sept. 18, 1958, in Campbell, a son of Hazard and Helen Martin Smith.

Lonny worked at Davidson Steel and Allied Erecting. He was a member of the Christian Assembly and had his certificate to become a ordained minister. He was a lead rock-in-roll singer for the band "Black Diamond." Lonny was a football player for Campbell Memorial High School and was a Golden Gloves contender.

Lonny leaves behind his mother, Helen of Campbell; his sisters, Leona Treharn of Austintown, Mary Cappelli of Austintown, Brenda Elkins of Midland, Pa. and Edith McDonough of Boardman; one loving brother, Thomas Smith of Youngstown; and lots of nieces and nephews.

Lonny was preceded in death by his father, Hazard Smith.

As Lonny would say "God Bless You." "Peace Out." "Your All My Rainbows in the Dark."

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
